I’m Becoming An Ex-Bachelor

What’s This About?

So I’m getting married. And that’s what this category is all about and this is where I will be posting notes about the wedding preps.

Having lived in Lilayi, Lusaka, as soon as I get married, I will be referring to myself as the Real Ex-Bachelor of Lilayi (REBoL). To help me prepare for the wedding, I will be expected to recruit a high profile team of best men who will provide entertainment on that day. But their job will start way before the wedding day as their core function will be to provide me with moral support.

I will call this group of reliable fellas, the Real Ex-Bachelors of Lilayi (REBoLs). Why? Well I have already reviewed the names of the proposed best men, and is it turns out, they somehow have ties with Lilayi.

The Best Men

  1. Emmanuel Kalenge – A long-standing buddy of mine in both tech and non-tech things, you would know this geek from my posts about my career. After leaving Chingola, he worked in Lilayi before marrying Lulu, who also used to work in Lilayi. They got married in 2010.
  2. Isaac Sakala – A former resident of Lilayi, Isaac recruited me to be on his wedding dance detail when he was getting married in 2012. His wedding reception happened in Lilayi.
  3. Chiza Sofield Mkandawire – I happened to be Isaac’s under study as chief best man at this this ex-bachelor’s wedding in 2014. He’s a former Lilayi resident too.
  4. Kasanda Mulali – This ex-bachelor has little to do with Lilayi, except that he spent a hefty amount of money on fuel for his car, shuttling between his PHI residence and Lilayi, where he found Precious, the woman he married in 2016.

So these are the prospective ex-bachelors of Lilayi, and over the next 6 months or so, they will be helping me prep for the big day.

To some a semi-tech, to others a geek. To some a computer programmer, to some a cable guy. To some an encourager, to some an educator. To some a brother, to some a brother-in-law. To some an uncle, to some a nephew. To two a son. To one, a husband.
